Sorrento SyArt Festival
Edition 2019

SyART Festival Sorrento, an exhibition event dedicated to the world of contemporary art, while retaining the substantial principles and intentions of its beginnings, in this edition opens up to new possible dialogues.
In_dialogue in fact is the main theme of the 3rd edition of SyART Festival Sorrento that from May 11 to June 9 presents in a group exhibition artists from eleven Italy, United States, Australia, Germany, Serbia, Spain, Cuba, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt and France. and France. A theme that binds the ten exhibition rooms Main Room Pop Art, Neo-pop, Spatialism, Figurative (with two rooms), Informal, Abstract-geometric, Oneiric, Photography Conceptual Solo Room Julia Krahn, Solo Room Lello Masucci.
At the helm this year is Rossella Savarese, a curator and gallery owner who also oversaw the previous edition. The design intention is to bring to life a dialogue that is grafted thanks to a message sent by artists such as Andy Warhol, Robert Indiana, Keith Haring and Roy Lichtenstein, undisputed international representatives of POP ART present in the Main Room Pop Art. A message that, decoded and reshaped, finds new expressions in the works exhibited in the Neo-Pop room and continues, coming alive within the exhibition in which Painting, Sculpture, Installation, Photography, are told with more than one hundred works. Last year's Solo Room is joined by a second one, this year assigned respectively to German-born artist Julia Krahn and artist Lello Masucci whose historic 1988 work “Sacchi di Notti napoletane” was recently acquired by the MADRE Museum in Naples. Consistent female participation, with a clear desire to issue a warning about the presence of women in the art world. In_dialogue also the location, Villa Fiorentino, in coherence with a broad project of exhibitions that is being structured and realized in its spaces. And again In_dialogue SyART, whose Founder and Promoter Leone Cappiello, continues to support and believe in the meaning of “young” as the meaning of new, of commitment to young talent but which expands and grows by becoming SyART Festival Sorrento, in which historicized artists represent support and fertile humus for creatives trying to structure and propose themselves in the contemporary.
The Green Fairy Awards and educational paths curated by Simona Schiazzano are confirmed, through the implementation of multiple educational projects. Sorrentine students welcome visitors by acting as stuart and hostesses, an experiment enthusiastically approved already in the previous edition.
Side events include the installation of the work by Israeli-American artist Dalya Luttwak, Global Warning: The First Tropical Mangrove commissioned on the occasion of the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale 2018. The sculpture, previously installed at the Marinaressa Garden and representing the complex root system of a mangrove tree welcomes visitors at the entrance of Villa Fiorentino. And also a 3D Art in Motion Video Mapping on the facade of the Villa by curated by Enrico Agresta and Francesco Cuomo and a live painting.
