Biography

Max Coppeta was born in Sarno in 1980, lives and works in Bellona (Caserta). In 2002, he graduated in Scenography from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, with a thesis on multimedia theatre. The same year he was awarded a scholarship by the Superior Institute of Design in Turin, thanks to which he came into contact with Leonardo Sangiorgi (Studio Azzurro), Pep Gatell (La Fura dels Baus), Carlo Infante (new media expert).

In 2006, he specialized in Visual and Performing Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. Parallel to his visual research in the artistic field, he started a Design and Visual Marketing studio in 2001 with important collaborations, such as the one with the Teatro Bellini in Naples, which lasted over ten years. For about three editions he was a juror at the Premio Web Italia, having received numerous awards and mentions in the field of multimedia languages. In 2012, he started a new artistic research entitled ‘Synthetic Rains’: an experiential journey in which he uses chemical products to simulate the mysteries of nature, gaining important exhibition spaces in Houston, Los Angeles, Lancaster, Caracas, València, Singapore, Tokyo, Naples, Milan, Turin and Venice.

He has won numerous awards over the years, including Top Talent Award / Europrix Multimedia Awards (Salzburg, 2004), Turin Book Fair - Scrittura Mutante (Turin, 2003-2005-2007), ADOBE / Macromedia (California, 2005), World Summit Award, e-Content Award Italy (Milan, 2005), PIAFF, Potenza International Animation Film Festival - G. A.I. Giovani Artisti Italiani (Potenza, 2006), PWI - Premio Web Italia, Premio della Critica (Michetti Museum - Chieti, 2006), Roma Design Più, Arts, Design and New Technologies section (Sapienza University of Rome, 2008), E-Content Award Italy - WSA, Create Your Culture! (Milan, 2012), Premio Underground (MSC Crociera Preziosa, 2013), Arte Laguna Prize, Sculpture section (Arsenale di Venezia, 2014).
