(May 1976) graduated at the Faculty of Specific Education, Cairo University in 1998 and he is member of the Syndicate Fine Arts. His works are both in many Egyptian Collections like the Cultural Ministry and abroad.- Collection of UK embassy- Collection of Czech embassy-Collection of modern art museum in Egypt.
His rural childhood had a large impact on his artistic career as he had the chance to contemplate beautiful landscapes and explore different media abundant in his environment. After his graduation, Waked worked as a designer at a flame work glass factory producing handmade glass vessels and sculptures, which made him proficient in sculpting, engraving, glass beads, and decorating glass. He actively participated in the fine Art Arena in Egypt with his drawings, paintings and sculptures. His glass creations featured in many exhibitions since 2000, starting with a small artworks exhibition. He held five solo exhibitions and participated in several national and youth art events. Waked uses both figuration and abstraction to express his vision about human relationships and he adapts the unique characteristics and aesthetics of glass to this endeavor
The artist declares: “What drives is in my field of artwork is to share my inner thoughts with people and to express my feelings in real life or through the realization of glass artworks. I long for people to feel and relate to the feeling I share through my sculptures.My aim in my work is to target all crowds and I want my art to attract and appeal everyone who looks at it and leaves a positive impression on them. The impact and response of the public are very important to me”.
